Day for Hope

Who they Serve/What they provide:

Day 4 Hope’s mission is to serve children in our local school system, who are homeless or in great need, with the “back to school” basics.

This is accomplished by inviting at-risk children and their families to our campus for breakfast/lunch, fun activities and a family portrait. Local organizations come together to provide each child with a dental, physical, and vision checkup (glasses if necessary), a haircut, a backpack filled with the school supplies, hygiene products, and a large grocery bag filled with nonperishable food.  They also receive gift cards to purchase clothing and shoes.

Kids are shown God’s love through our congregation in hopes that it will move them into His path. If you would like more information about Day 4 Hope (July 28, 2018) and how to get involved, please contact the office for details.

Habitat for Humanity

Who they Serve/What they provide:

At Habitat for Humanity, we build. We build because we believe that everyone, everywhere, should have a healthy, affordable place to call home. More than building homes, we build communities, we build hope and we build the opportunity for families to help themselves.

Sign up now for Faith Build 2018!

Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County Faith Build 2018 calls people to leave the halls of the church and to serve in the way that the original apostles served….as the body of Christ in the World.

In a Faith Build project, churches come together to build a home for a Habitat partner family. They raise the money, provide the labor, and the prayer support to build a house in partnership with a local family. Habitat South Sarasota’s goal is to raise $60,000 through Faith Build over the next year.

The benefits of working with Habitat South Sarasota are numerous, especially for the faith community. Building a house gives people a concrete way to put their faith into action. A Faith Build project also has the potential to build community among churches that have never worked together before. Volunteers can meet new people and develop friendships with individuals from their own churches as well as from the faith community.

For more information about Faith Build 2018, email Emily Shaw or at (941) 493-6606 ex. 228.
