Summer Festival of Worship 2019

  • Venice Presbyterian Church 825 The Rialto Venice United States (map)

This year’s Summer Festival of Worship will feature creative expressions of worship.  Each Sunday, VPC pastors and musical artists will offer a unique way of offering worship to God.

July 14th- Come To Me:  Quiet Time in God’s Presence

On July 14th, we will offer a contemplative worship service centered on quietness with God, prayer, and meditation on Scripture. May this be a unique time to experience God amidst stillness and quietness.

July 21st- Christmas in July

We invite to experience what the Christmas story means to us even in the summer months. We will sing favorite Christmas Carols, hear the story of Christ’s birth, a message reflection from Pastor Chris followed by a candlelight ceremony. Following the service, we invite you for a fun time of decorating Christmas cookies in the Glass House Café.

July 28th – Musical Reflections of Praise

We welcome back the music of Brian Gurl.  Both Brian and Pastor Chris will offer a service centered around Scripture, with the unique jazz, Celtic, and gospel stylings of piano and violin, music and scripture. Come and experience the unique and creative jazz and gospel stylings of Brian Gurl.

August 4th The Faith Hall Of Fame

On August 4th Pastor Carolyn will present a worship service entitled “The Faith Hall of Fame.”  A communion service centered around Hebrews 11, will talk about some of the giants of the Christian faith from the early Christian church through the modern church.

August 11th Festival of Psalms

Our Festival of Psalms will encompass a service centered around the book of psalms. There will be hymns, choir music, and scripture meditations based on some of the most treasured Psalms.

August 18th “Who are those Moravians?”

Many of us have inquired about the life and background of the Moravian Church. On August 18th, Burke and Eleanor Johnson will present a worship service, in which we will learn about the History of the Moravian Church and also about the Ministry of Burke and Eleanor. Following the service, we will have a “Moravian Lovefeast” on the grounds.

August 25th Songs of Heaven

On the final Sunday of our summer festival of worship, Pastor Chris and Jamal will present a worship service featuring the most beloved songs of heaven. This service will feature piano duets, choir anthems, pastoral meditations, loud and robust singing from the congregation, and the return of the gospel Hammond B3 organ. Join us for the celebration of our eternal reward in Jesus Christ.
