Let Us Begin

Scripture: 

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” — Colossians 4:2 

Reflection: Today we begin our 40 Days of Prayer. This is more than the beginning of a calendar challenge or a new devotional routine. It is an opportunity for God's people to intentionally seek Him together. We enter these days with humility, remembering that we need Him. We enter with prayer, bringing our hearts, families, church, community, and world before Him. We enter seeking His face, desiring His presence above everything else. And we enter with repentance, asking God to reveal what needs to change within us. We do not know everything God will accomplish during these 40 days, but we know that He is faithful. May this be a season where prayer becomes deeper, faith becomes stronger, hearts become softer, and our church becomes increasingly dependent upon the Lord. Let us begin not with certainty about what God will do, but with confidence in who God is. 

Prayer: Lord, here we are. We give You these 40 days and ask You to have Your way among us. Humble our hearts, deepen our faith, renew our desire for You, and teach us to pray according to Your will. Draw our church closer to You and use this season to bring glory to Your name. Amen.
