The Danger of Spiritual Compromise

Wednesday, March 18th

Scripture: Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” (Revelation 17:1–2)

Reflection:
Revelation 17 introduces a symbolic picture of a powerful system that has led many away from God. The imagery represents a world that becomes comfortable with compromise and places its trust in influence, wealth, and power rather than in the Lord. Throughout history believers have faced the temptation to blend in with the values of the culture around them. Yet God calls His people to remain distinct and faithful. Spiritual compromise often begins subtly, when we allow our priorities to shift away from Christ. When we keep our focus on Him, we gain the strength to live differently from the world and remain faithful in every season.

Prayer:
Lord, guard my heart from compromise. Help me remain faithful to You and live according to Your truth, even when the world pulls me in another direction. Amen.
