A God Who Keeps His Promises
Friday, July 24th
Scripture: "Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments." — Deuteronomy 7:9
Reflection:
From the opening pages of Scripture, God reveals Himself as a covenant-making and covenant-keeping God. His promises are not based on changing circumstances or human faithfulness but on His own unchanging character. Throughout Israel's history, there were seasons of obedience and seasons of rebellion, yet God remained faithful to His covenant promises. His steadfast love endured even when His people wandered. This same faithfulness gives believers confidence today. Because God's character never changes, we can trust every promise He has made through Jesus Christ. Our hope is built not on our ability to remain perfect, but on God's unwavering commitment to accomplish His purposes.
Prayer:
Faithful Father, thank You that Your promises never fail. Help me trust Your unchanging character and rest confidently in Your covenant love. Amen.
