Forgiven to Forgive

Monday, October 27th

Scripture: “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” — Matthew 6:14

Reflection:
Forgiveness is both a gift received and a call to extend. Jesus connects our willingness to forgive with our experience of the Father’s forgiveness not as a threat, but as an invitation to freedom. When we hold on to bitterness, we close our hearts to grace. But when we release others, we open space for healing and peace. Forgiveness is not minimizing the hurt; it’s surrendering it to the God who judges rightly. As we reflect on the mercy we’ve received in Christ, our hearts are softened to show that same mercy to others.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the forgiveness You freely give. Help me to reflect Your mercy by forgiving those who have wronged me, just as You forgave me. Amen.
