Carrying One Another
Monday, August 17th
Scripture:
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
Reflection:
Prayer gives us a way to carry the burdens of others when we cannot carry them ourselves. Every person around us is facing something we may not see. Some carry grief, some uncertainty, some loneliness, and others struggles they may never speak aloud. As followers of Jesus, we are called to notice one another and bring those burdens before God. Intercessory prayer is an expression of love because it asks God to work in someone else's life even when we may receive nothing in return. During these 40 days, we can become more attentive to the needs of the people God has placed around us and faithfully bring them before His throne.
Prayer:
Lord, open my eyes to the burdens others are carrying. Teach me to pray faithfully for the people around me and to become an encouragement to those who are hurting.
